Maharashtra Beef Ban Row : Madras H C Lawyers Register Protest By Distributing Beef Delicacies

More than 30 lawyers of the Madras High Court sprung up a surprise protest by distributing beef delicacies at the Court campus Friday afternoon.

The members of the progressive lawyers association condemned the announcement on banning beef by the Maharashtra Government and said that similar protests would be carried out throughout the State if Maharashtra does not revoke the ban immediately.

Speaking to media persons , the lawyers said that beef was a poor man’s meat and said that the ban showed that the BJP Government did not care for the people belonging to the lower strata of society.

Marx Ravindran who led the protest criticised the Hindu Munnani leader Mr.Ramagopalan for giving a call to implement a similar ban in the State of Tamil Nadu.
