Odisha Assy condoles death of martyr Pitabas Majhi killed in combing operation in Uri sector

Odisha Assembly Wednesday condoled the death of martyr Pitabas Majhi, a jawan of the Rashtriya Rifle, who laid down his life during a combing operation following the terrorist attack on the Army camp at Uri sector on September 18 in which 18 jawans were killed. The House also observed one minute silence in his memory.

Pitabas,a jawan of the Rashtriya Rifles who hailed from Danajhola village under Komna block of Nayagarh district, sustained injuries during a combing operation after the terrorist attack.

Moving the obituary reference, Leader of the House Naveen Patnaik said Odisha is proud of the great patriot and late Majhi would be remembered for his sacrifice for all times to come. Mr Patnaik expressed his profound grief over the death of the jawan and requested the Speaker to convey the condolence of the House to the bereaved family. Later Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra,BJP Legislature Party leader K V Singh Deo and Speaker Niranjan Pujari also expressed their grief over the death of the jawan.
