South Africa takes on Pakistan at Eden Park, Auckland in a Pool B match of ICC Cricket World Cup . Batting first Pakistan was at 174 for 5 in 36 overs, when last report came in.

Earlier, South Afirca won the toss and opted to bowl first. This encounter will determine Pakistan’s longevity in this tournament. On the other hand if South Africa wins it will cement their quarterfinal spot.

In the other match today, Ireland will face Zimbabwe at Hobart. The match will start at 9:00 am Indian time.

This is Zimbabwe’s penultimate pool game; with only one win so far, their chances of making it to the knockouts are slim. Ireland, on the other side, has two wins already and a victory against Zimbabwe would give them a good chance of progressing ahead.
