Bar Council Of India Show Causes Two Defence Lawyers of Nirvaya Gang Rape Convicts

Bar Council of India, BCI, has issued a show cause notice to the two defence lawyers of Nirbhaya gang rape convicts for their reported derogatory remarks against women in an interview given to British film maker Leslee Udwin.

Talking to reporters after the meeting of Executive Committee in New Delhi, Chairman of Bar Council Manan Kumar Mishra said that after examining the statement, it shows a prima facie case of professional misconduct.

He said, the council would initiate the inquiry. Advocates ML Sharma and AP Singh had defended the five accused in the gang rape and murder trial of Nirbhaya gang rape.
