I have aces to win political game in UP”, claims Akhilesh
03 October, Lucknow
The bickering within the ruling Samajwadi Party continued even as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expressed his dissatisfaction on the announcement of the fresh party candidates for the assembly polls next year.
“I have left all by rights and was not aware about the candidates announced by the party,” said Mr Yadav candidly but also made it clear that ‘aces’ of this political game is held by him. ”Only an ace can enable a person to win,” he stated.
Talking to mediapersons, after inaugurating the new CM secretariat building now known as ‘Lok Bhawan’ along with Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, the CM said,”I cannot change my habits and you tell me what do you want to hear, a political answer or a honest remark about the announcement of the SP candidates.”
“Honestly I can say that I have no information about the announcement of the candidates and I have left all my rights in the party,” he disclosed.
When his attention was drawn on the candidature of Aman Mani Tripathi from Nautanwa seat in Maharajganj district against whom the CM had recommended CBI probe in the death of his wife Sara last year and is involved in several other criminal acts, Mr Yadav said,”I continue to stick to my stand. But I am not aware of the announcement of the candidates.”
But when the CM was interrogated further by the scribes to clarify the matter, he said ,”you all have played the game of cards and only that person wins who have the trump card.”
“In this game of politics, I hold the aces and you will come to witness it as the election approaches,” he said.
The Chief Minister ridiculed the strategies of the opposition parties for trying to flee away from the issue of development in the coming assembly polls. “When our SP government is doing everything to develop the infrastructure, the opposition were just not interested in the development issue and were trying to divert the attention of the people in other non-serious issues,” he added.
Yadav, who was accompanied by State Urban Development Minister Mohammad Azam Khan and other ministers, narrated in detail about developmental works of his government and how he had made the Lucknow- Agra expressway in a record time while the works of the Lucknow Metro is also underway in a speedy way. Work for the Lucknow- Ballia expressway was also underway.”Development of infrastructure is our main motto and till now more than 50 districts have been connected with four-lane highways and if we get another chance all the districts would get the facility of good roads,” he said.
The Chief Minister said health was our priority and several facilities were given by the SP government. “If we get another chance we will convert all the district hospitals to world class establishment. This would be included in the party’s election manifesto,” he added. Mr Yadav also said the government has also announced to give smart phones to the people so that they could be connected to the government through technology.
