Bihar govt moves SC against grant of bail to RJD MLA in rape case
05 October, Patna
The Bihar government Wednesday moved the Supreme Court challenging the bail granted to suspended RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav by the Patna High Court in the rape case of a minor girl.
The matter has been listed for hearing on Friday. Yadav had allegedly raped the minor girl at his residence in Biharsharif on 6th February this year.
After evading arrest for considerable time the Nawada MLA surrendered after a local court issued proclamation notice and an order to attach his properties for not surrendering before the police.
The RJD suspended Yadav from the party on 14th February, a day after his arrest warrant was issued.
