DGCA to issue fresh advisory on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7

In a bid to avoid any untoward incidents during flying hour, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is likely to issue a fresh advisory with regards to carrying Galaxy Note 7 smartphone onboard soon.

Currently, the passengers are advised not to carry the phone in ‘switch on’ mode, not to put on charge and also not to carry it in the check in bag.

The advisory is being seen after the fire broke out in a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phone on a flight in the US on Thursday.

“We are in touch with the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA). Advisory likely to come next week after FAA revises earlier issued guideline,” said a senior DGCA official.

The passengers are also likely to be advised to keep the phone properly so that the phone on/off button does not come in touch with something and get switched on, said the official.
