Toll mounts to 342 after 6 more deaths due to encephalitis in UP

After six more deaths of children due to encephalitis in Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital during past 24 hours now death toll has mounted to 342 today.

Official sources said here that out of six deceased two were from Gorakhpur and one each from Sant Kabeer Nagar and Deoria and two were from Bihar.Sources said that 1317 patients of encephalitis have been admitted Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital since past January 1 in which 342 kids have been died due to this disease.

Sources said that 14 new patient of encephalitis have been admitted recently while 109 patients are getting treatment in the hospital.

Patients of encephalitis from Gorakhpur, Basti, Azamgarh, Ballia, Gonda, Mau, Gazipur, Balrampur, Ambedkar Nagar, Badaun districts and from nearby states like Bihar and Jharkhand also from neighboring country Nepal are getting treatment in Medical college hospital of Gorakhpur.
