J&K Separeatist Leader Geelani Meets Pak High Commssion

Jammu and Kashmir separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani met Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit in New Delhi Monday .

The meeting was called by the Pakistan envoy to apprise the separatist leaders about the Indo-Pak talks.

Talking to media after the meeting, Geelani said the Pakistan High Commissioner apprised him of discussions held during Indian Foreign Secretary’s visit to Pakistan. He said the prominent issue is that Jammu and Kashmir issue must be resolved by dialogue between the two countries.

Congress has raised its objection on the meeting. Party leader Rajeev Shukla said such meetings must not be allowed and government must launch protest against it.

Basit is expected to meet other separatist leaders in New Delhi over the week. Separatist leaders are also being invited for the Pakistan Day on March 23rd to which the government has declared its ‘no objection.’
