Death toll reaches 146 in Indore Patna Express derailment

In Uttar Pradesh, the death toll in yesterday’s train accident has reached 146 as one more injured person succumbed at a hospital in Kanpur Monday.
The rescue work carried out by NDRF at Pukharayan, Kanpur Dehat rail at the accident site was completed this afternoon. Now, rail department repairing badly damaged rail track. Rail sources say by tonight, the track will become functional.
A high level inquiry has already been ordered to probe the accident. More than 200 passengers were injured when the Indore – Patna express derailed.
All damaged and smashed coaches have been removed from rail track. Now rail department is at war footing to repair and reconstruct badly damaged track. Chief PRO NCR Vijay Kumar said tonight the route may become functional.
