Naveen flagged off third pilgrimage train

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday flagged off the third pilgrimage train with one thousand senior citizens at a colourful function from Sambalpur railway station.

This time the senior citizens would visit religious places of Rishikesh and Haridwar. Minister for tourism and culture Ashok Chandra Panda and senior bureaucrats were present on the occasion.

This is the third flagging of a pilgrimage train after Berhampur and Bhubaneswar.

he pilgrimage train is an initiative of the Odisha tourism department under the Barishta Nagarika Tirtha Yatra Yoajana to help the senior citizens to avail their spiritual journey to important places of religious tourism.

Under the programme, two thousand senior citizens have already visited places like Rameswaran, Madurai, Varanasi and Allahabad. Patnaik has promised the senior citizens to facilitate their journey to help them attain spirituality.
