Naveen joins human chain as part of Biju birth centenary celebration

A human chain was organised Wednesday in all the 314 blocks, district headquarter and state capital here in memory of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik as part of his birth centenary celebration and 80 years of completion of formation of Odisha.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik along with Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha MP Prasanna Patsani, Panchayati Raj minister Arun Kumar Sahu and Tourism minister Ashok Chandra Panda besides several senior party leaders joined the human chain at the Forest Park here.

The human chain in the state capital covered a distance of nearly 30 kms from Dhauli to Nandankanan where people from all walks of life participated.

Similar, chains were also organised at the block and district level across the state on the occasion.

Addressing the gatherings present on the occasion, Patnaik called upon people of the state to work unitedly to protect the self-esteem of Odisha and build a strong and prosperous state which he said will be the greatest tribute to Biju Patnaik.
