Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi exhorts people to move towards cashless society

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asserted that those tying hard to bring back black money into the system by putting it into poor peoples accounts, if found guilty will be severely punished.
Sharing his thoughts in the 26th edition of Mann Ki Baat programme on All India radio Sunday, Modi said, the corrupt are trying to lure the poor.
Modi said, it will take 50 days for the situation to normalise the effect of demonetization. He said, it is not easy to get rid of a 70 year old problem.
Complementing the citizens, the Prime minister said, even though people are facing hardships but they are giving their unstinted support.
Saying that the dream is to have a cashless society, Mr Modi said though 100 per cent cashless is not possible but there is no harm in trying.
Modi said, common man will be trouble free if they are made aware of the digital financial transaction options and youths can do this quickly.
Patting the back of employees of banks and post offices, Modi said, they are working day and night with dedication. He said, they are working with a mission to transform India.
The Prime minister said the spirit of people makes him confident that India will win.
Saying farmers are the backbone of Indian economy, Modi said they are standing tall in tough times. He also said small traders contribute significant to the economy.
Modi urged small traders to enter the digital world to increase their business. He sought everyone’s cooperation to make the campaign against black money a success.
Saying this year’s Diwali was unique, Modi said, 1.25 billion Indians dedicated this Diwali to soldiers.
Quoting a letter of a Soldier, the Prime Minister said, this time they felt like they are celebrating Diwali with 1.25 billion Indians and didn’t miss their family.
Modi said, soldiers must be remembered during festivals, celebrations and happy moments. He said, soldiers were overwhelmed with the emotion filled wishes of thier countrymen.
Modi said, when the nation stands with the Armed Forces, their morale is boosted 1.2 billion times. He said, MyGov open forum will bring out an coffee table book compiling selective messages, letters, poems, pictures and videos sent to soldiers.
Mentioning about the village heads of Jammu and Kashmir who created awareness about education in the valley, Modi said, recently they discussed the prevailing situation in the state with him.
The Prime minister expressed happiness that the recent board examinations saw 95 per cent attendance in Jammu and Kashmir.
