Chinese delegation shows interest to invest in Odisha

An eight-member Chinese delegation appreciated the new IPR policy launched by the Odisha government for industrial development and expressed their intent for investment in the state.
The delegation met Chief Secretary A P Padhi at the state secretariat here today and assured that they would come up with their respective proposals soon.
The Chief Secretary appraised them about the specific facilitating policies in Textile, Apparel, Manufacturing, electronics, electrical, health, bio-tech Plastic Park, food processing tourism chemicals & petrochemicals etc and assured them all enabling support from the government.
He also assured the Chinese delegation timely clearance of the proposals, provision of office space, land and 24×7 quality power supply. Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan appraised the team about the institutional arrangements like single window clearance, land bank, industry facilitation center in IPICOL for providing all support to the investors. Dr Sarat Sahoo, a former member of Odisha Planning Board led the delegation to the meeting.
The major industries and groups who joined the delegation included the representatives from Comdaq Industries, JK Import & Export, Sindoz, Total Freight Solutions, China-India Trade & Investment Platform, M-Day group.
