Doctor Sentenced To 3-Years Rigorous Imprisonment for Sexually Assaulting A Minor

District Session Court Judge S L Pathan has sentenced a 25-year-old doctor to three years rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor in 2013.

In his verdict Monday , Judge Pathan also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused, of which Rs 9,000 is compensation to bepaid to the minor girl’s mother.

According to the prosecution, the accused Haridas Fuke on September 24, 2013, called the seven-year-old girl to his house by promising to repair her faulty TV remote, but tried to sexually assault her when she got there.

Later, the girl’s mother lodged a complaint against Fuke with the CIDCO police, who after investigation registered a case against him and submitted the charge-sheet in the court. During the hearing of the case, the prosecution produced five witnesses to depose before the court.

Following the hearing, Judge Pathan sentenced Fuke and slapped a fine, failing to pay which he will have an additional three month stay in jail.
