J&K Govt. Sends Detailed Report To Center On Release Of Militant Masrat Alam
12 March, Srinagar
The Jammu and Kashmir government has sent a detailed report to the Centre on the release of separatist leader Masarat Alam.
Official sources said, the report has been sent to the Union Home Ministry with clarification.
This comes after Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who had asserted that the NDA government’s top priority was national security, sought a proper clarification from the Jammu and Kashmir Government on the issue.
The release of Alam, the mastermind behind the 2008-10 stone-pelting agitation in Srinagar, triggered a massive uproar in the country with calls from several quarters for his re-arrest.
