All India Ayurvedic Congress Begins At Chandigarh

All India Ayurvedic Congress began at Chandigarh Thursday with a clarion call to restore the supremacy of Ayurveda system.

The Ayurveda Congress is being held in north India for the first time. About 3, 000 delegates from all over the country, BRIC and SAARC nations are participating in the Congress.

Advising Ayurveda specialists to take the message of Dhanvantri to the remote villages of country, the Punjab Health Minister, Surjit Kumar Jyani said that the time has come to launch an Ayurvedic movement all over the country and make population a stakeholder in this countrywide and worldwide movement.

He said that India, the land of Dhanvantri and Ayurveda has the potential to become the torchbearer of Ayurveda to provide a healing touch to the suffering humanity, especially in the third world countries, which cannot afford costly medical care system.
