Yeddi charge CM of taking Rs 65 cr bribe in steel flyover ‘deal

Karnataka BJP unit president B S Yeddyurappatoday alleged that there was huge corruption in the proposed steelflyover in the city to be built at a cost of over Rs 2000 crore andChief Minister Siddaramaiah had ‘made a deal’ to get Rs 150 crore ‘commission’.

In a startling allegation, the former Chief Minister claimedwhile speaking to mediapersons here that Rs 65 crore ‘upfront’payment was also made to the chief minister and this was noted in the’diary’ that was seized from Siddaramaiah’s close confidante andMLC Govinda Raj.

Yeddyurappa had alleged early this week that Mr Siddaramaiahhad sent Rs 1000 crore to the Congress High Command recently, afterthe demonetisation, to safeguard his chair.

Mr Siddaramaiah, speaking to reporters in Mysuru refused tocomment on Yeddyurappa’s claims saying that he would not react tounsubstantiated and false allegations by the BJP leader. In a strong reaction the Chief Minister said, ”this is akin to ademon reciting Bhagavat Geetha. This is a shameless character evenafter 15 FIRs filed in the courts against him and (he) spent a stintin jail. Now BJP has power at the centre. Had Congress was rulingthe country, Yeddyurappa may have faced an extended stay jail.”

He said BJP leaders were making unsubstantiated allegationsagainst Congress leaders and the will prove a failure as suchallegations are not backed with facts.

”I suspect Congress leaders are being targeted by centralorganisations like Income Tax department, conducting raids. Thisleads to revenge politics. Are there no corrupt BJP leaders inGujarat” Siddaramaiah asked.
