E-Governance Kiosks Gaining Popularity In Tamil Nandu

E-governance kiosks is being expanded through state owned Arasu Cable TV Corporation in 224 taluks in Tamil Nadu.

E-governance has been welcomed by people especially those living away from district headquarters. The e-governance project has gained popularity all over Tamil Nadu as hassles are removed in getting important revenue department certificates.

With the e-governance project people living in far flung areas can now get community certificates, income, nativity, first generation graduation, birth, death, widow certificates from online service centres at 169 places in Tiruchirapalli district.

This includes 146 primary agricultural cooperative societies in rural areas, and 12 Hope centres. The applicants will be given Candidate Account Number and SMS messages will be sent to mobile phones as soon as the certificates are ready.

In Tiruchirapalli more than 30,365 people have registered and utilized the e-governance centres till now and got various certificates according to collector Dr K S Pazhanichamy. People have welcomed this system as they don’t have to wait in long queues to get important documents from Revenue department.
