PM Modi speaks to Australian counterpart Turnbull; expresses concern over visa issue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over the possible impact of the recent changes in Australian regulations for visa programme for skilled professionals’.

Modi spoke to Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Turnbull over phone Tuesday.

The two leaders agreed that officials from both sides will remain in close touch on the issue. The two Prime Ministers also discussed the follow-up action taken after the visit of Turnbull to India last month, and the steps required to further strengthen the bilateral relationship.

Prime Minister Turnbull thanked the Prime Minister Modi for the success of his recent visit to India.
