UP Govt Sounds Bird Flu Alert

After Sswine flu, the threat of bird flu looms over Uttar Pradesh and the government has sounded an alert in this regard.

The move comes after an expert team confirmed bird flu -avian influenza outbreak in birds, chicken and ducks in an area of Amethi district.

The chief secretary Alok Ranjan, has directed divisional commissioners and district magistrates to initiate preventive measures in their areas to minimize any possible adverse impact.

Some 400 birds, chicken and ducks suddenly died of a mystery disease in first weak of this month in Shukulbazaar area of the district and medical expert team confirmed the cause of birds’ death as avian influenza.
