Shashi Shekar Vempati takes charge as CEO of Prasar Bharati

Shashi Shekar Vempati Monday took charge as the Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati.

Speaking to media after taking charge Vempati said, his priority will be to make Prasar Bharati a modern Broadcasting organisation.He said, the operations will be modernised and new technologies will be brought in.

Vempati said, India is the biggest democracy and it’s voice should be heard all over the world through DD and AIR. Mr Vempati said, Prasar Bharati will take DD and AIR all over the world through digital technology.

Speaking on All India Radio, he said, it is a platform with the widest reach.
The CEO said, there is need to increase FM penetration all over the country. He said, FM radio expansion has to be accelerated specially in smaller towns where there is no other options for entertainment and news.
