No-Confidence Motion Against Maharashtra LC Chairman Exposes BJP-NCP Nexus : Saamana

17 March, Mumbai

Terming Monday’s vote on no-confidence motion in Maharashtra Legislative Council as a BJP-NCP nexus, the Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ Tuesday reported that the Legislative Council chairman and Congressman Shivajirao Deshmukh had to lose his chair because of this unholy partnership.

A no-confidence motion moved by the Nationalist Congress Party was passed in the council yesterday. Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party supported the motion, while its ally Shiv Sena abstained from voting.

Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Minister for Environment Ramdas Kadam while participating in the discussion in house said that this no-confidence motion was moved for personal and selfish goals of both the BJP and the NCP.

Kadam said after the Assembly elections in Maharashtra, NCP had offered to support the BJP form government in state. He said, the BJP, in turn by supporting NCP in the no-confidence vote Monday has
endorsed the fact that there exists a secret pact between the two parties.
