22 June, Saharsa

A day after JD(U) announced its support to NDA candidate and former Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind for presidential election slated for next month, its former national president Sharad Yadav today fired salvo at Narendra Modi government for its failures in fulfilling promises made during Lok Sabha elections held in 2014.

Yadav told media persons here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made tall promises during last Lok Sabha elections held in 2014 but not a single among them was fulfilled during three years of tenure of his government.

“Modi had promised to fix Minimum Support Price(MSP) of produce giving 50 per cent profit to farmers on input cost incurred by them”, JD(U) leader said adding that promise appeared to have forgotten by him when he became PM after 2014 Lok Sabha elections and farmers were left in lurch.

Yadav said, farmers were committing suicide in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and other parts of the country but the Centre remained indifferent towards their suffering and not a single step was taken to amiliorate their lot.
