Odisha govt moots new health policy for better health care

Odisha government is formulating a new policy with an objective to bring a revolutionary change in the medicare sector to provide better health care to the people.
sources here said the policy is being prepared now and would be implemented after the approval of the government. Health Advisor to state government K Srinath Reddy discussed about the proposed policy at a high level meeting here after meeting Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena.
Official sources said IIPH was entrusted with the responsibility of formulating the new policy. IIPH is regularly consulting with various officers of the Health and the Family Welfare department and preparing the draft bill.
The meeting decided to thoroughly discussed the draft after it was prepared to make necessary amendments and to include some new clauses in the draft. Sources said the policy would be given a final shape after seeking suggestions from various quarters.The policy would be implemented after the approval of the government.
