Central Govt. Is Committed To Complete Polavaram Project In Andhra Pradesh : Venkaiah Naidu

Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu Tuesday assured the Lok Sabha that the Centre is committed to complete the Polavaram project.
Intervening during the debate on the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill 2015, Naidu said the priority of the project can be gauged from the fact that the Central government brought an Ordinance for this.
Naidu said the Central government is in constant touch with the state government to rehabilitate the people who will be displaced due to the project.
Initiating the debate, Congress leader Mrs Sonia Gandhi said that Andhra Pradesh is facing a huge revenue deficit, which is adversely affecting the people of the state.
She said that the 14th Finance Commission has not done full justice to Andhra Pradesh. She accused the Central government of not doing much for the state.
Mrs Gandhi demanded Special Category status for Andhra Pradesh and urged the Prime Minister for his immediate and personal attention.
