K’taka Govt. Orders CID Probe Into Death Of IAS Officer Ravi As BJP MLAs Sit On Indefinite Dharna Demanding CBI probe

The BJP legislative Assembly members in Karnataka Started all night dharna in the legislative Assembly tonight demanding CBI enquiry into the mysterious death of IAS officer D K Ravi.

The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has refused to accept their demand for CBI enquiry, saying that State CID will probe the incident. Both legislative Assembly and Council witnessed noisy scenes since morning
today –Tuesday over the alleged suicide of D K Ravi that happened Monday .

The State Home minister K J George told to the House that there is strong evidence to prove that D K Ravi committed suicide due to personal reasons. However he said, the information could not be revealed at this point, as investigations are on.

Former Home Minister and BJP deputy leader in the legislative Assembly, R Ashok objected to Government reply that D K Ravi had committed suicide. He asked as to how Government can come to such conclusion, before the postmortem and forensic report is received by the police. He expressed apprehension that the Government is trying to cover up the incident.

The city police Commissioner M N Reddi has said that prima facie it looks like an incident of suicide but police is looking at all the angles.

Meanwhile after postmortem, D K Ravi’s remains were taken to his native town Doddakopalu for burial.

The demand for fair investigation in honest and upright officer D K Ravi’s death also echoed throughout the state.

Kolar witnessed bandh, stone pelting, blocking of Chennai- Bengaluru national highway and motor cycle rallies. In several places the photograph of D K Ravi was garlanded and people prayed before it.

The young bureaucrat had won the hearts of people in Kolar and taken stringent action against sand and land mafia in the state.
