Railway Platform Ticket To Be Increased From Rs.5 To Rs.10 From April 1

Railway platform ticket to be costlier from April 1. A senior Railway Ministry official said the rate of platform ticket will be increased from 5 to 10 rupees per person from April, 2015.

The official said, the Divisional Railway Managers have been empowered to increase the rate of platform ticket beyond 10 rupees to regulate rush at platform during specific requirements like mela and rally.

Platforms witness heavy rush during fairs or rallies causing inconvenience to other passengers.
