ABVP Holds Demonstration In Bengaluru Demanding CBI Probe Into Death Of IAS Officer Ravi

Activists of the BJP’s Student’s wing ABVP Thursday held a protest in Bengaluru demanding a CBI probe into the mysterious death of IAS officer DK Ravi.

The protesters clashed with the police, dismantling barricades.

The State government has been maintaining that CID probe is perfectly capable of handling the case. Reports of a few minor incidents of protests were also received from Kolar.

In Tumkur district, a few pro-Kannada organisations had called for bandh. The police had to forcefully remove protesters blocking National highway 206 in Tumkur city.

The Superintendent of Police in Tumkur ,Karthik Reddy informed that schools and colleges functioned normally, though a few shops remained closed for sometime. He has informed that the situation is peaceful now.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka assembly was adjourned till Monday, amidst shouting of slogans by the Opposition Members. When the House commenced today, the Opposition trooped into the Well of the House, demanding a CBI inquiry on the mysterious death of IAS officer D K Ravi.

The leader of the Opposition in legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar said that both BJP and JD(S) members will take out a padyatra from Gandhi statue to Raj Bhavan and submit a memorandum to the Governor seeking his intervention for advising the State Government to hand over D.K Ravi death case to CBI.
