Ratan Tata To Head Indian Railways “Kaya Kalp” Council

Noted industrialist and Tata Group’s Chairman Emeritus, Ratan Tata has been appointed as the head of Indian Railways Innovative Council called ‘Kaya Kalp’.

The Council has been constituted to turn around the rail network. The announcement of the council was made by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu in this year’s Rail budget.

Apart from Tata, the Kaya Kalp Council will also have two railway union leaders Shiv Gopal Mishra and M Raghuvaiah.

Tata will head the Kaya Kalp Council, while General Secretaries of All-India Railwaymen Federation and National Federation of Indian Railwaymen will also be the members of the council.

More members will be inducted into the council soon. According to Railway Ministry sources, the terms and references are being finalised.
