MP Finance Minister And Wife Robbed In Train Near Mathura

The Finance Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Jayant Malaiya and his wife, Sudha Malaiya were Thursday robbed on board the Jabalpur-Nizamuddin Express train near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh .

The Railways has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

According to SP, GRP-Agra, Gopesh Khanna, the incident occurred in the wee hours of Thursday between Kosikalan and Vallabhgarh stations when armed miscreants entered the train and looted the Minister and his family.

Gold chain, ring and some cash were looted from the couple in the AC compartment of the running train. The couple had boarded the train at Damoh for Delhi.

Three RPF personnel who were escorting the train, have also been suspended in connection with the issue. There are reports that the miscreants also robbed passengers in the adjoining coupe.

The SP said that Delhi police have filed a Zero FIR at Nizamuddin in the case. AIR correspondent reports that in another incident, armed miscreants robbed about a dozen passengers of Hyderabad bound Sadan Express near Gwalior last night. An FIR in this regard has been registered at Jhansi GRP Police station today.
