PM says, Governance is not about winning elections and his govt’s prime agenda is development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday said that Governance is not about politics or winning elections and his government’s prime agenda is development.
Modi addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the first cattle health fair- ‘Pashu Arogya Mela’ in Varanasi said, by 2022, when the country celebrates 75th year of Independence, every poor, whether in urban or rural area, will get a home.
The Prime Minister on the second day of his two-day visit to his Lok Sabha constituency distributed Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana certificates to some beneficiaries.
The Prime Minister also promised to double farmers’ income by 2022. He said, doubling of farmers’ income is an area in which significant work is being done. Modi said, improvement in cow breeds and good health of animals will be helpful to farmers to increase their income and will attract them towards animal husbandry.
He said, wellness fair of animals -Pashu Arogya Mela – would be helpful to the farmers to keep their animal in good health.
On corruption, Modi said his government had “waged a war” against black money and graft, for which the poor has had to suffer because of “the loot” by the dishonest.
Modi said, introduction of GST and linkage of Aadhar cards with different schemes are a part of the drive. He said, the way in which our trader brothers are associating with GST and Aadhar, every penny of the people will be spent for their welfare.
Earlier, Modi laid the foundation stone for toilet units at the village under his pet Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan project.
Reiterating his “Clean India” message, Modi said he was happy to have got the “opportunity to help in construction of toilets for the poor. He said Swachhata is puja for him. He said it can save the countrymen from diseases. Cleanliness is a way to serve the poor of India.
The Prime Minister appreciated the local villagers for taking measures for creating Open Defecation Free villages and constructing toilets in every house.
He also appreciated the naming of toilets as Izzat Ghar and said that toilets are helpful for safeguarding the respect of women, young girls and old people.
