Delhi High Court Acquits All Sixteen Cops Accused In 1987 Hashimpura Massacre

All the sixteen personnel of the Provincial Armed Constabulary, accused in the 1987 Hashimpura massacre case, were on Saturday acquitted by a Delhi court.

They were acquitted from charges related to the killing of 42 Muslims, who were picked up from a village in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. The court has given them the benefit of doubt.

Additional Sessions Judge said that on the 21st of last month, the court had fixed its verdict for Saturday, after seeking some clarifications from the counsel for the prosecution, accused and the victims.
