“Aadim Vichar” Wins National Film Awards- Rajat Kamal As Best Odia Feature Film

Odia Film “Aadim Vichar” (Ancient Justice) won the Best Odia Feature Film in the language category at the 62nd National Film Awards ,which were announced Tuesday.

Directed by award winning Film maker Sabyasachi Mohapatra under the Mohapatra Movie Magic Private Limited production would receive Rajat Kamal Award . Both the Mohapatra and the producer would get Rs.1 lakh cash award each .

“Aadim Vichar “has selected as the Best Odia Film for its vibrant portrayal of a tribal community whose enabling humanism shows a way out of pettiness and prejudice.

“Aadim Vichar” is based on a 100 year old story penned by Mohapatra’s father kapileswar Prasad . It is about a righteous Kondh tribal elderly man who turns rebellious when he is implicated and produced before court.

“ I am very happy that “Aadim Vichar” which was made with an aim of creating awareness among people about the simple lifestyle of tribal communities has been selected for the national Award, , the Director of the film Sabyasachi Mohapatra said in his reaction.

The 62nd National Film Awards 2014 were announced by the Chairpersons of the three juries on Feature Films, Non Feature Films and Best Writing on Cinema at New Delhi..

The Feature Film Central panel was headed by P. Bharathiraja a legend in Tamil cinema and National Film Award winner.

The Central panel comprised of 11 members including Chairman, the Non Feature jury was headed by Kamal Swarup and comprised of 7 members including the Chairman. The jury on Best Writing on Cinema was headed by Shri Govind Kumar (Madhan) and comprised of 3 members including Chairperson.
