Lee was a Global Thinker : PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the former Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew was a global thinker, who saw things ahead of others.

He was an advocate of economic progress and made tireless efforts to advance peace and stability in Asia.

Talking to reporters after his arrival in Singapore Sunday to attend the funeral of Singapore’s first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, Modi said, India deeply valued Lee Kuan friendship and his support for India’s economic progress and global role.

He said, India’s relations with Singapore is one of the strongest relationships in the world and Singapore is a key pillar of India’s Act East Policy.

Prime Minister said,. Lee Kuan was a source of inspiration for him and his achievements and thoughts gave him confidence in the possibility of India’s own transformation.
