Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Posthumously Awarded Bharat Ratna

Freedom fighter and educationist, Madan Mohan Malviya was conferred the highest civilian award of the country Bharat Ratna posthumously at a glittering function Monday in the Ashoka hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

President Pranab Mukherjee handed over the award to his family members.

Senior BJP leader L K Advani, Akali Dal leader and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Jagadguru Rambhadra Acharya received Padma Vibhushan while Swapan Dasgupata and David Frawley received Padma Bhusan .
