Union Minister Sadanandagowda Seeks PM’s Intervention Over Construction Dam Across Cauvery

Seeking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention on the opposition posed by Tamil Nadu over Karnataka’s plans to construct a reservoir across River Cauvery at Mekedatu, Union Law Minister D V Sadanandagowda declared that MPs and Ministers from Karnataka will not succumb to pressures from Tamil Nadu on the project.
Speaking to mediapersons here last night, he said thePrime Minister had been urged not to yield to any pressures fromTamil Nadu which is trying to gain political mileage out of the issue. Stating that the construction of the reservoir would solve the drinking water problem, he said ”the MPs from the State would extend all support to the Karnataka Government to overcome the legal tangle in this regard.’
