Delhi Govt. Urges Center For Action Plan To Check Growing Pollution In NCR

Delhi government has written a letter to Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on the issue of increase in the air pollution level in the national capital over the years.

Delhi Environment Minister Asim Ahmed Khan has noted that checking air pollution must be treated on priority and should not become a subject of political wrangling.

In his letter, Khan informed Javadekar that an action plan to improve air quality in the national capital as recommended by a high power committee headed by the then Delhi Chief Secretary was sent to the Union Ministry in the month of February.

He said the action plan can check the rise of air pollution.

Mr Khan also informed that as a follow-up of this action plan, the concerned departments including civic bodies and Delhi Police have been requested to prepare time bound implementation plans.
