Two Security Personnel Killed In Encounter With Militants In J&K

Two security personnel were killed and a civilian was injured in an encounter with militants in Tangmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Thursday .

According to Police souirces, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area, acting on a tip off about the presence of militants in Kunzer village.

Sources said a gun battle broke out when militants opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated.

One policeman was killed in the encounter while an army jawan succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. One civilian was injured in the encounter.

The sources said the target house has been cordoned off and a fierce exchange of firing is on with the holed up militants believed to be at least two in number.
