AAP Suspends National Executive Member Rakesh Sinha

Two days after the Aam Aadmi Party sacked dissidents Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan as party spokespersons, AAP Thursday suspended its National Executive member Rakesh Sinha from the party.

Sinha, the AAP leader from Uttar Pradesh, has been suspended for questioning the party over removal of its internal Lokpal Admiral Ramdas, sources said.

Another reason for Sinhas suspension was that he also questioned the party over removal of its founder member Prashant Bhushan from AAPs disciplinary committee.

Sources said the decision to suspend Sinha was taken in the partys National Executive meeting, held on March 29. Another member from Uttar Pradesh Vishal Lathe has also been suspended from the party.

AAP leader from Tamil Nadu Christina Samy resigned Wednesday from partys National Executive over the removal of Yadav and Bhushan, from the partys Political Affairs Committee (PAC) and also from the AAPs National Executive.

On Tuesday night, Yadav was removed as chief spokesperson of AAP, while Bhushan and Anand Kumar were removed as spokespersons.

AAP released a fresh list of 20 spokespersons, which include the names of Sanjay Singh, Kumar Vishwas, Pankaj Gupta and Iliyas Azmi. The list also includes Saurabh Bharadwaj, Alka Lamba, Kapil Mishra, Adarsh Shastri, Ashutosh, Ashish Khetan and MP Bhagwant Mann.

Earlier on March 28, both Bhushan and Yadav along with two other dissident leaders- Ajit Jha and Anand Kumar- were expelled from the National Executive of AAP at the National Council meeting for anti-party activities.

Bhushan on Sunday was also expelled from the disciplinary committee of the party. Earlier this month, both the senior leaders and founding members of AAP were removed from the partys Political Affairs Committee (PAC)
