BJP To Launch Mega Mass Contact Programme To Dispel Opposition Misgivings Over Land Bill

BJP attacked the Congress and other opposition parties accusing them of spreading misgivings and confusion about the Land Acquisition Bill.
Addressing the National Executive, party president Amit Shah took a jibe at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and asked the Congress to find its leader instead of finding non-existent faults of the Central government.
Shah said the Opposition has deliberately spread misgivings about the Land bill which is in the interest of farmers. He said the government and the BJP were pro-farmer and committed to their welfare. Party has decided to launch a mass contact programme to dispel propaganda spread by the opposition over the bill, and engage farmers in dialogue.
The BJP President lauded the ten months of Narendra Modi government, saying it has brought transparency and has ended the policy paralysis. Citing the record revenue earned by the public exchequer in coal and spectrum auctions, he said good governance was reflected in the complete transparency witnessed in the auctions.
The National Executive also adopted a foreign policy resolution. The resolution says, dignity and honour, greater engagement of dialogue, shared prosperity, regional and global security and cultural and civilizational preservation are the five pillars of the foreign policy.
Party spokesperson M.J.Akbar told media that the Prime Minister’s initiative in foreign affairs and blending of economics with civilization have made India an anchor of global affairs. BJP’s foreign policy resolution also said there is no compromise on any forms of terrorism. It described it as a global nightmare and urged to take a proactive role in the war on Jihadis. The resolution urged the government to engage in talks with Pakistan in an atmosphere free of terrorism.
Earlier in the day, BJP leader and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said the National Executive has decided to reach out to the masses through social reform programmes.
He said, the first social reform activity of the party is to liberate India from manual scavenging. Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, senior BJP leaders including L K Advani and M M Joshi were present on the occasion.
Around one hundred National Executive members, chief ministers of the BJP-ruled states and its state presidents are also participating in the two day event.
