Lightening Kills 3 Each in West Bengal And Assam

At Least three people were killed and eleven injured in lightening Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred when a mechanised boat carrying passengers were going to Dakshineshwar from Belur on river Ganga.

The injured have been admitted in different hospitals in Howrah district and Kolkata.

The condition of 5 passengers including two minors are stated to be critical.

The South Bengal district of the state witnessed thunder storm accompanied by showers on Sunday afternoon which uprooted trees at different places.

Similarly in Assam, at least 3 persons were killed and several injured in lightening and hailstorm related incidents last night.

Hundreds of houses and government institutions were partially or fully damaged at several places.

Dhubri, Kamrup, Barpeta, Baska, Goalpara among others are the worst affected.

Road communications and power supplies are also affected following rain and hailstorm.
