Week-Long Immunization Campaign Begins In Assam Under Mission Indradhanush

Immunization under the Centre’s ambitious Mission Indradhanush began in Assam Monday in 8 districts.
The week-long immunization program aims at covering partially or unvaccinated children below 2 years to protect from seven deadly diseases. These are – Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Tetanus, Polio, Tuberculosis, Measles and Hepatitis B.
Two thousand 60 immunization sites have been set apart from 300 mobile teams for difficult areas.
Vehicles and boats will be deployed to ferry around 7 thousand health personnel. The Centre has also deployed Observer to monitor the immunization program. The eight districts are- Hailakandi, Karimganj, Dhubri, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Nagaon, Darramg and Goalpara.
