SHM Organises Competition To Popularise Odisha Cuisine

Chefs from leading hotels and restaurants in Odisha’s capital city will be participating in a competition on Odisha cuisine organized by the School of Hotel Management (SHM) under the SOA University Tomorrow , Tuesday.

“Our institute has plans to promote Odisha cuisine through competitions, food festivals, displays and demonstrations,” B.P.Tripathy, Associate Dean of SHM, said.

Chefs from 15 prominent hotels in Bhubaneswar including Mayfair Lagoon, Swosti Premium, Swosti Grand,Crown, New Marrion, Sandy’s Tower, Empire Residency, Suryansh, Presidency, Royal Midtown and VITS have confirmed their participation in the competition to be held at the SHM, he said.

The SHM would also hold a ‘Pakhala Festival’ on April 11 and 12 next which would be open to the members of public. A variety of ‘pakhala’, a typical Odisha cuisine with the accompanying preparations of fish, vegetable and other delicacies, would be made available, Tripathy said.
