24 new COVID-19 cases in Odisha, tally stands at 294

Bhubaneswar, May 09 :
24 new coronavirus cases reported in Odisha during last 24 hours , taking the total positive cases in the state to 294, said the State Health Department said on Saturday.
The fresh cases have been reported from Nayagarh, Rayagada ,Ganjam, Bhadrak and Sundergarh.
First COVID-19 positive cased traced in Nayagarh and Rayagada Saturday.
Of the 24 new positive cases, Ganjam has reported the highest number of cases at 18.
At present, there are 226 active cases while so far two people have succumbed to the infection.
Of the total cases in the state ,112 are Surat returnees belonging to eight districts with Ganjam topped the list with 88 cases.
Ganjam has so far reported the maximum number of 88 COVID-19 Patients, followed by Jajpur at 55 and Khurdha at 50.
While, Baleswar has reported 27 cases, Bhadrak 25 and Kendrapara 8.
A total of 68 people have recovered from the virus in the state.
With five more trains with around 5000 migrants from Gujrat, Taamilnadu and Maharashtra reaching Sunday , the number of COVID-19 cases are likely to soar further in Odisha.
