CCPA Meets To Deccide Reconvening Of Rajya Sabha On April 20

Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, CCPA will meet in New Delhi today, Tuesday on reconvening the Rajya Sabha which was prorogued last month to allow the Centre re-promulgate the land ordinance.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the meeting.

Official sources said the proposal is to reconvene the Upper House from April 20th when the month-long recess of the budget session also ends.

The budget session of Rajya Sabha was cut short on March 28th as the House was prorogued to pave the way for re-promulgation of the Land Acquisition Ordinance.

The Upper House of Parliament was in the midst of budget session and it went into recess from March 20th to meet again on April 20th. The budget session was to end on May 8th.
