Five Terrorists Killed In Encounter In Telangana

Five under trail criminals including most wanted terrorist Vikaruddin were killed in an encounter that took place near Alair in Nalgonda district of Telangana Tuesday morning.

Vikaruddin was wanted in many terror activities including Mecca Masjid blasts case and other four were suspected SIMI activists.

According local police, the five were being brought to Hyderabad from Warangal Jail for a court hearing. After they crossed Warangal district, the SIMI activists attacked on their police escort trying to snatch weapons forcing police to open fire. The five were killed on the spot, claimed police.

Vikaruddin was a native of Old Malakpet in Hyderabad and wanted in Mecca Masjid Bombs blasts case in 2007. He was wanted in several cases with respect to attacks on police.

He allegedly attacked jail warden at Chenchalguda Central jail in Hyderabad and made an attempt to escape. Later he along with his four other aids, was shifted to Warangal Jail where he was kept in a High Security Block.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the five terrorists killed in an encounter this morning have been shifted to Janagaon in Warangal District for post-mortem. Deputy Inspector General of Police Naveen Chand told reporters that the escorting police opened fire in retaliation when the Five suspected Terrorists including Vikaruddin tried to escape and snatch weapons from them. The five were being taken to Hyderabad from Warangal Jail for a court hearing.

Police has registered a case at Alair Police Station in connection with the incident. The Sub-Inspector Siddaiah injured in the shoot out of two-SIMI activists two days ago succumbed to injuries. A constable had died on the spot in the encounter that took place at Janakipuram in Nalgonda district
