Telengana Encounter Killing Row :Telangana Opposition Demands Judical Probe
08 April, Hyderabad
Some political parties in Telangana have described Tuesday’s encounter in which five suspected militants were killed as pre-planned murders by police.
The parties include All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) and Majlis Bachao Tahreek. MIM President and Lok Sabha member Asaduddin Owaisi demanded a judicial inquiry into the encounter. He said it was extra-judicial retaliatory killing by state police.
The family of Vikaruddin, who was among the militants killed, has demanded a CBI probe into the encounter that took place at Alair in Nalgonda district when police were bringing the five to a Hyderabad court.
Vikaruddin’s father Mohammed Ahmed told reporters in Hyderabad that the state police have killed the accused in a fake encounter as there may be a favourable ruling by a Hyderabad court over a petition seeking their transfer from Warangal to Hyderabad.
