IRDA To Implement Enterprise Wide Electronic Mail and Messaging System

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) is working on a plan to equip itself with electronic mail and messaging system and connect its offices with enterprise wide solutions to better serve the industry and the policy holders.
In this context IRDA has invited bids from the reputed vendors for implementation of enterprise wide electronic mail and messaging system. IRDA regulates, promote and ensure orderly growth of the insurance industry which is expected to grow further after raising of Foreign Direct investment (FDI) limit to 49 per cent.
The broad category of the activities that are to be carried out is implementation of enterprise wide e-mail and messaging System (Preferably in Hyderabad) with high availability option, secondly implementation at disaster recovery (DR) site, IRDA said in its offer documents.
The implementation will be carried out for automatic switchover to DR in case of primary site fail over (local and global application load balancing) and the entire hardware setup will be hosted in either in vendors own data centre preferable) or in third party ISP with appropriate criteria and managed by the bidder on behalf of IRDAI.
IRDAI renders its services through its head office located at Hyderabad with about 250 employees and a regional office located in Delhi
