PM Modi to flag off 8 trains connecting different regions of country to Kevadiya

New Delhi, January 16 :

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off eight trains connecting different regions of the country to Kevadiya tomorrow through video conferencing. These trains will facilitate seamless connectivity to the Statue of Unity.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate several other projects related to the Railways sector in Gujarat during the event. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Railways Minister Piyush Goyal will be present on the occasion.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Dabhoi – Chandod Gauge converted Broad Gauge railway line, Chandod – Kevadiya new Broad Gauge railway line, newly electrified Pratapnagar – Kevadiya section and the new station buildings of Dabhoi, Chandod and Kevadiya.

These buildings have been designed aesthetically incorporating local features and modern passenger amenities. Kevadiya Railway Station is India’s first station with a Green Building Certification.

Prime Minister will also flag off the train connecting his parliamentary constituency Varanasi to Kevadiya. This train will facilitate seamless connectivity from Varanasi to the Statue of Unity.

Talking to AIR News, DRM of Northern Railways Lucknow Division, Sanjay Tripathi said,  this tri weekly train will promote the essence of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Terming it a boon to people of Kashi he said that it will promote tourism.
